South Fraser Refugee Readiness Team
Working together to support refugees from around the world as well as displaced Ukrainians in the South Fraser Region of BC
The South Fraser Refugee Readiness Team (RRT) supports the capacity building and enhancement of services and supports for all settlement serving agencies, community organizations and other stakeholders in the arrival, settlement and integration of newcomer refugees and displaced Ukrainians in the South Fraser Region of BC.
The members of the South Fraser RRT will meet regularly to support and address the needs of newcomer refugees and displaced Ukrainians through a series of collaborative activities.
The South Fraser RRT actions and initiatives belong to the community with the goal that the impact of our work will live beyond the RRT contract period.
Our Objectives
The South Fraser RRT have five main objectives. We want to:
1. Support in the coordinated, planning-based approach to newcomer refugees and displaced Ukrainians support and initial settlement in the South Fraser Region.
3. Assist newcomer refugees and displaced Ukrainians served by the South Fraser RRT gain skills, information and resources needed to successfully integrate into the South Fraser Region and communities.
2. Leverage shared knowledge, expertise and capacity to address the needs of newcomer refugees and displaced Ukrainians while enhancing community readiness.
4. Create pathways for South Fraser Region community members, including diaspora communities, to help newcomer refugees and displaced Ukrainians effectively settle into their new lives.
5. Provide technical guidance to Working Groups on complementarity or non-duplication of work relative to other coordinating or collaborative mechanisms and connection to these mechanisms for coordinated and enhanced service delivery.
