Celebrate World Refugee Day with the South Fraser RRT
The South Fraser Refugee Readiness Team (RRT) and its community partners invite you to a World Refugee Day Celebration on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Fleetwood Community Centre (15996 84 Avenue, Surrey, BC).
World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe, celebrating the strength and courage of those who have been forced to flee their home country to seek a better life.
The South Fraser RRT brings community partners in this region together to support refugees from around the world as well as displaced Ukrainian. (A special thank you to the collaborators on this event: Fraser Health, ISSofBC, LCSS, MAP BC, Options Community Services, PICS, Surrey LIP, YWCA and Zaytuna Services Society!)
All refugees, newcomer Ukrainians and community members are invited to attend. Come join us on this important day to watch performances by refugee artists, listen to shared stories, take part in a storytelling activity and enjoy delicious Latin American and Syrian food.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about services in the South Fraser Region.
