Health & Mental Health Working Group

 In the South Fraser region, there are unmet healthcare and mental health needs for refugees and displaced Ukrainians that require responsive and culturally and trauma informed approaches. 

The Health & Mental Health Working Group will be convened to address some of the issues and gaps that came up during the community consultation mapping exercise including: limited number of family doctors taking new patients, need for youth and child mental health supports, Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) recognition and barriers accessing Medical Services Plan (MSP), language and interpretation barriers, inter-referral between healthcare providers and settlement services providers.
