Food Justice Working Group

South Fraser RRT core members identified food justice as a core issue in the South Fraser Region. Recent inflation and high housing costs in the region are putting financial constraints on families. But access to affordable and healthy culturally appropriate food choices is imperative for the wellbeing of refugees and displaced Ukrainians.  

The South Fraser RRT Food Justice Working Group will explore current best practices in food justice models and current food related supports in the South Fraser Region.

The Food Justice Working Group will support collaboration among the group and food providers throughout the South Fraser Region to increase culturally appropriate food access and increase community capacity and education on food justice within the refugee context.
