Employment, language and skills development were highlighted collaboratively by RRT members as important issues for refugees in the South Fraser Region.
There is a wide variation in education, language levels and employment readiness of refugee and displaced Ukrainian arrivals.
A South Fraser RRT Employment Convening Table will be created so RRT members can collaborate and share information on employment opportunities and employment programs for refugees as well as displaced Ukrainians in the South Fraser Region.
We will also share information and resources with employment services providers in the South Fraser Region about their employment needs including supports in the workplace.
There are many free employment programs and services available to help refugees explore career paths in Canada and find a job.
