HIPPY program
Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program
Learn and grow with your child with HIPPY!
Do you want your children to succeed in school and life in Canada? The Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program empowers mothers with the tools and confidence to prepare their preschool children for success in school. DIVERSEcity is offering two options for newcomer families in Surrey, Delta and White Rock:
- HIPPY Plus for preschool children three to five years old
- HIPPY Smart (Support Mothers and Raising Toddlers) is for children aged 18 months to three years old
As a parent, you will:
- Receive home visits from trained home visitors who are also mothers and speak your language
- Teach your child preschool-level curriculum activities to prepare them for elementary school
- Gain confidence in your parenting and have fun learning with your child
- Attend group meetings and workshops at DIVERSEcity in Surrey, BC, to learn new skills and meet other parents
- Get referrals to programs and services in the community
Your children will:
- Learn new skills while playing
- Receive free children’s books, toys and lesson packages
- Feel more confidence and greater attachment
- Be ready for kindergarten!
DIVERSEcity’s HIPPY home visitors speak your language!
We offer services in Arabic, English, Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Spanish, Tigrinya, Urdu and more.

Eligibility requirements
Want to join DIVERSEcity’s free HIPPY program? It is open to permanent resident families in Surrey, Delta and White Rock only. Canadian citizens are not eligible.
