Through DIVERSEcity’s B.U.I.L.D.S. (BIPOC Unified Inclusive Leading Organization Development for South Fraser) Project, we are supporting grassroots BIPOC organizations to help grow their services and impact in the community by accessing Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) federal funding.
It’s about levelling the playing field for you to expand your reach in the settlement sector and focus on institutional growth and greater service delivery. Join us for this unique opportunity to strengthen your capacity to access federal funding and discover new ways to engage with federal and provincial stakeholders within the settlement sector.
Partners with higher needs will also be able to avail themselves of individual organization mentoring for targeted infrastructural development to successfully apply for and manage IRCC contribution agreements.
Work with us to create more proportional opportunities for culturally responsive services when we empower and support grassroot organizations. Our goal is to simplify the process of obtaining up-to-date information on regional necessities. This will help establish equal opportunities for capacity-building and create awareness for smaller organizations on avoiding duplication and complementing the services offered.
Sign up now to be a part of a collaborative process in which we will work with your organization to provide a series of orientations targeted to your readiness and needs.
Virtual and in-person sessions and activities will take place until August 2, 2024.
Eligibility
BIPOC-led grassroots organizations working with newcomers are eligible.

We are thrilled to announce two special “Connect and Learn” sessions as part of the B.U.I.L.D.S. Program. These sessions are designed to provide valuable insights from experienced leaders in the settlement sector.
In the first session, Ryan Drew, the Director of Integrated Services at S.U.C.C.E.S.S., brings over 25 years of experience in the settlement sector. Currently, she oversees a wide range of social service programs that support newcomers, seniors, youth, families, entrepreneurs, and vulnerable populations. She shares her extensive background and explores critical topics such as making a meaningful impact in the sector, expanding your organizational scope, and fostering collaboration among different players in the sector.
The second session features Ana Maria Bustamante from the Burnaby Local Immigration Partnership and Tina Balachandran from the Surrey Local Immigration Partnership. They delve into their roles as conveners, bringing together diverse stakeholders to discuss newcomer integration and the essential support services needed when moving to British Columbia. The session concludes with insights on how you can get involved with your local partnership and the significant impact LIP tables have on the community and stakeholder relationships.
We encourage you to watch these insightful sessions at your convenience. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from leaders in the field!
