Register and Get a Language Assessment

Get a Language Assessment

Before you can start English classes, you will need a language assessment

To start English classes at DIVERSEcity, you will first have to get your English language level assessed. There are two language assessment centres in the Newton area of Surrey:  Surrey Language Assessment Centre and Options Language Assessment & Referral Centre.

Here are the steps to take:

  1. Download this LINC Application Form and fill it out.
  2. Photocopy your latest immigration document (e.g., permanent resident card (both sides), Confirmation of Permanent Residence (form IMM5292 or others).
  3. Mail, fax or bring your completed application form and photocopied document to one of the language assessment centres. See contact information below.
  4. The language assessment centre will contact you with the assessment appointment date and time.
  5. After you complete your test, your results will be mailed to you.
  6. Once you receive your results by mail, contact us at the DIVERSEcity LINC program at 604-547-1203 or email languageprograms@dcrs.ca to register for classes.
  7. Need extra support in the assessment process? Unsure about online classes? We can walk you through the assessment process and getting comfortable with online classes.
