English Language Programs for Immigrants

Learn English with free classes in Surrey

DIVERSEcity offers a range of free English language classes to permanent residents and refugees. From Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes up to CLB 6 to pre-literacy programs and support for students with multiple barriers, our highly qualified and experienced instructors will help you learn English, along with tips for your new life in Canada!

Classes are offered at different times of the day and week, and are supported by childminding, with early childhood education curriculum just for your kids!

• Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program offers free English language classes to new immigrants, from pre-literacy to CLB 6

• LINC Assistance and Readiness Class (LARC) is for clients who need additional support and more flexibility than a conventional LINC class

• Community Adult Literacy Program (CALP) teaches basic English reading and writing skills to help you in passing tests and finding a job

• Conversation Circles for additional speaking practice

• Early Childhood Education Program is a free childminding program for children (18 months to five years) whose parents are students in our English language programs

Before you can start classes, you will need a language assessment from the Surrey Language Assessment Centre.
