On March 5, 2025, the King Charles III Coronation Medal was awarded to outstanding individuals in British Columbia during a ceremony at Government House in Victoria, BC, including DIVERSEcity’s Chief Executive Officer, Neelam Sahota. The Coronation Medal was created to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, and recipients represent a diverse group of individuals who have made significant contributions to British Columbia.Neelam was presented the award by the Honourable Wendy Lisogar-Cocchia, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.“I’m honoured to have been selected to receive the King Charles III Coronation Medal. Thank you to those who nominated me and to those who have walked along this journey with me. It is not lost on me, that I am receiving this medal during a time of increased division and tension across our nation and the world. I receive this medal humbly to honour the pioneers who endured so that first-generation Canadians like me could dream big, lead with courage and audacity to make a difference. I remain steadfast in my resolve especially during these times and will continue to work toward an abundant, inclusive and equitable country that we all deserve and need, not just for today but for future generations.”#ForPeopleForCommunities #SurreyBC #VictoriaBC #BC #BritishColumbia ... International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate women’s stories, achievements and breakthroughs. But growing threats to gender equality globally are making women’s rights and freedoms increasingly fragile. In today’s climate, Canadian women need to come together to reflect, discuss, act and advocate for progress. At our 2025 DIVERSEcity x Minerva Women’s Leadership Forum on March 6, we made space for this critical dialogue through panel discussions, networking and group activities. At the event, we also captured advice from a few of the incredible women leaders in attendance, asking them their thoughts on what women can do to thrive despite the ongoing challenges today. Watch our video featuring: 💐 Christie Sparklingeyes, one of this year’s panel speakers 💐 Matilda Williams-Obiajunwa one of our panelists last year 💐 Tina Strehlke, CEO, Minerva BC 💐 Neelam Sahota, FCPA, FCGA, ICD.D Sahota, CEO, DIVERSEcity This #InternationalWomensDay, let’s work together to #accelerateaction and help each other grow, lead and bloom! Share your ideas with us on how we can work together to uplift each other and advance gender equality for all women! #IWD2025 #GrowLeadBloom #ForPeopleForCommunities www.dcrs.ca ... See MoreSee Less
