Neelam Sahota, Chief Executive Officer, DIVERSEcity
Neelam Sahota, FCPA, FCGA, has been leading DIVERSEcity as its CEO since 2013. Her award-winning work (including BC Business Woman of the Year non-profit) in the social and economic development of Surrey, BC, is based on creating community impact through resource connections, innovative economic drivers and values-based community partnerships. A first-generation Canadian, Neelam was born in Vancouver and now resides in Surrey.
Lenya Wilks, Director, Partnerships
Lenya Wilks leads innovative projects that strengthen relationships with community stakeholders, Indigenous communities, immigrant and newcomer communities and BIPOC youth. A Jamaican native who migrated to Canada in 2016, Lenya is the founder of annual celebration Black in BC, and is one of Canada’s Top 100 Black Women to Watch in 2024.
Vandna Joshi, Director, Employment, Language & Social Entrepreneurship
Vandna Joshi has held leadership roles at DIVERSEcity since 2016, using her strategic outlook and determination to lead expansion and diversification of DIVERSEcity’s programs and impact in the community.
Vandna immigrated to Canada as skilled professional 20+ years ago. With 16+ years of experience working in the non-profit sector at DIVERSEcity, she aspires to inspire other racialized women in their own journeys. She is the recipient of the Surrey Women in Business Award – Non-profit Leader in 2022,
