Vandna Joshi is Director, Social Entrepreneurship, overseeing several social enterprises, self-employment programs and more. She has held leadership roles at DIVERSEcity since 2016, using her strategic outlook and determination to lead exponential expansion of DIVERSEcity’s Employment Programs in funding, community partnerships, diversity of programs and impact in the community.
Vandna immigrated to Canada as skilled professional with a bachelor’s degree in ayurvedic medicine and master’s in psychology 20 years ago. Furthering her professional growth and development, she also completed a certificate in management and leadership from Royal Roads University and her career development practitioner certificate from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. With 16+ years of experience working in the non-profit sector at DIVERSEcity, she aspires to inspire other racialized women in their own journeys, emphasizing gratitude, determination and resilience.
Recipient of the Surrey Women in Business Award – Non-profit Leader in 2022, Vandna believes that leadership is a business of kindness and nurturing in all aspects. Her priority is to develop a collaborative culture in the workplace, which is driven by strategic innovation, keen business acumen and respect for all, which is all aligned with organization core values. She is recognized by her peers for her knowledge, compassion, guidance and commitment to her work and the organization. She believes that financial independence leads to greater stability and better access to resources, hence she strives to develop partnerships and programming that would provide those opportunities to all in our community.
