Ian Robinson, Chief Financial Officer, at DIVERSEcity, is a trusted finance professional with 20 years of progressive experience within government, education and the non-profit sectors. Originally from the UK, Ian moved to the Lower Mainland in 2004 and holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) designation as well as a master’s in business administration (MBA). He highlights the varied experiences gained across multiple roles and high-performing teams as critical to guiding his thought processes and best-practice approach to assessing, managing and strengthening the finance function within organizations.
In his role, Ian applies his knowledge of financial reporting, planning and analysis, budgeting and long-range forecasting, capital and treasury management, and workforce planning and optimization. Having built and developed several high-performing teams, he highlights helping them to grow their individual technical abilities and confidence as one of the most rewarding aspects of his career so far. Through multiple system implementations and process improvement projects, he has witnessed firsthand how teams can quickly evolve into trusted and key strategic partners to the business. The ability to build strong partnerships and relationships with multiple stakeholders is an additional area that Ian views as a critical opportunity for strengthening the overall positive impact of any organization.
Ian joins DIVERSEcity at the time of a new five-year strategic plan, which he views as a fantastic opportunity to further establish how the finance function can maximize its contributions to the organization’s core values.
