Embrace Access for All: Sign DIVERSEcity’s Accessibility Petition

Join us in advocating for a more accessible Surrey – DIVERSEcity’s petition to the City of Surrey for improved accessibility services and facilities options

DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society is committed to fostering a supportive community for immigrants, refugees, seniors, people with disabilities and others who rely on our services. To further our mission and address pressing concerns that affect our community members, we have initiated a project to enhance accessibility and safety. This project seeks to address four key issues:

Crosswalk across from our campus

The absence of a crosswalk on 76 Avenue presents significant challenges for seniors and persons with disabilities. We request the installation of a crosswalk at this location to enhance safety and accessibility.

One-car drop-off accommodation

The lack of a designated drop-off zone on 76 Avenue hinders accessibility for our clients and visitors. We appeal to the city to designate a one-car drop-off zone in the green space of our main campus on 76 Avenue.

Left turn from 76 Avenue onto 134A Street

The current restriction on left turns onto 134A Street forces inconvenient detours and sometimes results in illegal turns. We request the city to review and consider allowing left turns onto 134A Street from 76 Avenue.

Snow removal

The current restriction on left turns onto 134A Street forces inconvenient detours and sometimes results in illegal turns. We request the city to review and consider allowing left turns onto 134A Street from 76 Avenue.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference and ensure that accessibility remains at the forefront of our community’s values.
