A day of connection and learning with the Kwantlen First Nation

Last week we had the honour of hosting Michael Kelly-Gabriel and Allie Keitlah, representatives from Kwantlen First Nation, at DIVERSEcity.

We shared a meal. Listened to their stories. Shared a bit of ours. Connected as people who care deeply for their communities. As Michael stated, “community comes first,” a value that DIVERSEcity shares.

It was a beautiful day of storytelling, sharing space and getting to know each other. We look forward to listening and continued learning through our ongoing relationship with Kwantlen First Nation and other Indigenous communities.

Michael shared the sentiment of “don’t carry our pain, carry our truth” and we remain dedicated to carrying forward the truth in our work.
